Elma Morgan is my father's mother. I first new her at the age of 6 when I went to live with her in Chudleigh in Clarendon. From there I was admitted in 1964 to the Leicesterfield Primary School. She was an extremely strict individual who would believe in the scripture "dont spear the rod and spoil the child".She was very disappointed that my mother was black and consequently she favoured my two brothers who was also living with her, because their was brown and grey eyed.</p>
It was after a dispute between me and one of my brothers that I decided that I wasn't going to be beaten by her anymore. I was then eight years old. I had attempted to resolve the dispute by striking my brother which was a no no for her. She chasted me and I kept runnung until I reached the home of my uncle Dervent Thompson who decided to relieve me of my miseries by taking me in.
She died in 1988 after suffering a stroke at the age of 90.
